Three Canadian firms, Trulioo, SecureKey, and FinanceIt, have been named among the global ‘Fintech 100‘; an index of the top disruptive international financial technology firms. The global fintech list is split into two groups: 50 leading established financial technology (fintech) firms and 50 emerging fintech stars of tomorrow. Backed by KPMG and H2 Ventures, 20 different countries were represented on the list, including 40 from the Americas, 20 from EMEA, and 22 from APAC.
Trulioo was included among the 50 ‘Emerging Stars,’ which KPMG describes as “exciting new fintech companies with bold, disruptive, and potentially game-changing ideas.”
“It’s a great honor to be celebrated alongside so many innovative companies disrupting the financial services industry,” Stephen Ufford, Founder & CEO of Trulioo. “Fintech presents a golden opportunity for Canada and it’s important that we unite and work together to build a sustainable ecosystem that nurtures products and services with competitive advantages for the international market.”
The Fintech 100 is compiled using data relating to a number of factors, including total capital raised, rate of capital raised, geographic and sector diversity plus consumer and marketplace traction, and “X-factor”, which refers to degree of product, service, and business model innovation.
