Fintech Mission in Brazil | Fintech Week
We are very excited to be participating in The Canadian Fintech Mission to Brazil, a program organized by the Trade Section of the Consulate General of Canada, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) to facilitate and establish R&D collaboration and co-development of international Fintech products between Canadian and Brazilian companies.
“We are honored to be selected as a Canadian delegate to participate in the Fintech mission,” said Jon Jones, President of Trulioo. “We see a huge growth opportunity in LATAM for fintech companies, especially in Brazil, given the high penetration of mobile commerce coupled with over 55 million unbanked adults – an optimal situation to co-develop fintech applications with Brazilian partners.”
The Fintech mission will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil from June 20-24, 2016, and include a wide range of activities such as site visits, one-on-one meetings, and networking events. The Fintech Week also happens to coincide with the annual Fintech conference, CIAB Febraban 2016, where the Canadian delegates have the opportunity to meet with local players to build a strong network of Brazilian fintech partners. The mission’s activities aim to promote R&D and innovation partnerships, facilitate market access, provide in-depth overview of the regulatory environment, and promote opportunities between Canadian and Brazilian companies.
In addition to Trulioo, there will be eight other Fintech companies participating in the Fintech Mission to Brazil, including BlueInk, Nanopay, OutideIQ, Okanii, Doxim, Spieker Point, Ready Portal, and Xmedius.
“Canada has a large Fintech ecosystem because of the country’s cutting-edge technology and having one the safest and most stable financial systems in the world,” stated Claudia Kakunaka, Trade Commissioner at Consulate General of Canada in São Paulo. “Plus, the spirit of entrepreneurship and tech innovation is strongly supported by the Federal and Provincial Governments. Canadian startups continue to attract large investments and are constantly innovating and obtaining great projection in the global scene.”
