Trulioo TIA Award

Last night, Trulioo was named “Emerging Company of the Year” at BC Tech Association’s longstanding Technology Impact Awards (TIA)!

Announced at a gala held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, the TIAs celebrate the very best of BC’s tech industry. Companies are honored in 10 different categories – all of which recognize outstanding technology, companies and individuals.

Zac Cohen, GM of Trulioo, accepted the award – which acknowledges outstanding performance and growth potential – on stage last night.

“We are truly honored to receive this award,” says Cohen. “It’s an exciting time for Canadian fintech, as a sector we’re experiencing exponential growth, and Trulioo is thrilled to play a key role in helping businesses navigate ever-changing financial regulation and compliance hurdles, while continuing to move forward and grow as a company.

“As tech continues to flourish in Canada,” Cohen continues “with innovation rife and venture capital booming – in 2016 it ballooned 26 per cent to $2.9 billion from the previous year – it’s important that tech companies remain a major driver of innovation and economic growth.”

In their 24th year, the awards gathered together a multitude of sectors from BC’s vibrant tech community, including fintech, cleantech, Software as a Service (SaaS), social media, business intelligence, security, e-commerce and web technologies.

Sponsored by BC Tech – an association dedicated to developing and advocating on behalf of the technology industry – the awards were presented in front of more than 1000 technology leaders, innovators and industry supporters.

Trulioo wishes to thank BC Tech for its continual support of the tech sector and also warmly congratulate all the other deserving winners.
