New compliance requirements in the wake of recent regulatory changes, along with the many opportunities created by technological advances, are driving massive investment in the field of RegTech (regulatory technology). In 2017, over $1 billion was invested in the burgeoning sector and the first quarter of 2018 saw over $500 million in investments; RegTech is growing at a dramatic pace as organizations, regulators and governments realize the enormous value it provides. Improving otherwise slow and expensive compliance processes, RegTech enables effective risk mitigation, and increases revenue by streamlining customer onboarding processes.
As the sector continues to flourish, it has spawned a number of RegTech conferences, with new conferences taking root in different parts of the world, and existing conferences growing in scope and relevance. 2019 is packed with a host of conferences that anyone interested in RegTech must check out.
